Left Brain, Right Brain

So today is the last day of the semester and my students are desperate for it to be over....but not as desperate as I am! I'm not ready for the exam. Have to put it together when I get to school this morning. Working to be challenging and comprehensive, but not too cruel! Teaching chemistry requires walking a fine line between meanness and rigor.

Meanwhile all I want to do is stay home and glue rhinestones on darling boxes and beautiful paper. Find white buttons. Attach bits of lace to vintage paper. Scour my yard for old acorns and rusty wire. Discover the blogs of creative women who make lovely things out of virtually nothing!

I'm beginning to understand why people want to retire....although I think I would miss using the left half of my brain if I did.

Something borrowed, something blue.....

I've borrowed this idea of blogging from my wild daughter, Jenni. Nothing frightens her. I love her energy and enthusiasm.

My dream is to create a beautiful place where lovely vintage items can be displayed and my ideas will blossom simply because they can be expressed! I just love old barns, rusty metal, peeling paint, old glass, pink, purple and blue flowers, china, the word "ephemera"!

I plan to figure out how to make this all work and put together my beautiful place!
